Our client is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for a major shutdown and maintenance project commencing 19 October at a leading almond processing facility in Mildura, Victoria.

This is a hands-on maintenance role working as part of an experienced shutdown crew, undertaking a variety of fixed plant mechanical maintenance activities across the site. You'll be responsible for carrying out planned shutdown works safely and efficiently while contributing to the successful delivery of the project.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure 4 months of consistent rostered work on a well-organised project, with accommodation provided and generous site allowances available.

Working a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster, you'll enjoy a strong work-life balance while earning excellent rates on 12-hour day shifts. Paid travel, accommodation and meal allowances make this an attractive opportunity for experienced tradespeople looking for their next project.

About the Project

The project involves planned shutdown and maintenance works within a large-scale almond processing facility. Mechanical Fitters will be responsible for a range of maintenance and overhaul activities including:
 
  • Conveyor replacement and change-outs
  • Wear plate replacement
  • Bearing replacement and refurbishment
  • Motor inspections and checks
  • Greasing and preventative maintenance
  • Fixed plant maintenance
  • General shutdown mechanical duties as required

About You

You are an experienced Mechanical Fitter who enjoys shutdown and maintenance work and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes safely and efficiently.

You will bring:
 
  • Cert III in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent trade qualification
  • Current White Card
  • High Risk Work Licence - WP (Boom-type EWP over 11m)
  • Strong fixed plant maintenance experience
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work effectively within a shutdown environment
  • CN Crane Licence (desirable)
