Workshop Supervisor – Switchboard Manufacturing
Location: Close to Wollongong CBD.
Permanent Full-Time Opportunity
About the Role:
RED APPOINTMENTS are seeking an experienced and driven Workshop Supervisor to lead a switchboard manufacturing team in a fast-paced, high-quality production environment. This is a permanent role offering stable weekday hours, opportunity for regular overtime, and a company vehicle. You will oversee day-to-day workshop operations supervising a team comprising of 7 electricians and trades staff, ensuring switchboard manufacturing projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
This position is fully based at the workshop close to Wollongong CBD, with no additional travel to client sites required.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and schedule workshop activities to meet project deadlines
Ensure materials, tools, and resources are available ahead of production
Liaise with engineering and project teams to ensure accurate execution of work
Supervise and coordinate daily workshop activities
Allocate tasks and set priorities to maximise productivity
Provide mentoring, support, and on-the-job training
Monitor team performance and contribute to development
Promote and enforce a strong safety-first culture
Ensure compliance with WHS policies and procedures
Conduct toolbox talks and contribute to JSEA processes
Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
Oversee switchboard assembly, wiring, and testing
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with specifications
Maintain high quality standards across all production work
Track and report on project progress
Support cost control, resource planning, and procurement
Approve timesheets and maintain labour records
Assist with quality systems and documentation
Hours and Benefits:
Monday to Friday shifts: 6:00am – 2:30pm and 7:00am – 3:30pm
Regular overtime available
Permanent and secure position

About You:
Trade-qualified Electrician with a current Electrical Licence
2 to 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or leading hand role
Experience in switchboard manufacturing or panel wiring
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Strong leadership and communication skills
Computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel
WHS for Supervisors or similar highly regarded
