RED Appointments is seeking an experienced procurement professional based in Heidelberg West, Victoria looking to take the next step in their career. Our client is seeking a proactive and detail‑driven Procurement Officer to support the division by managing all purchasing, supplier relationships, and logistics activities. This is a key role that ensures their projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Division Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all procurement activities across materials, equipment, services, and logistics. You'll work closely with suppliers, project teams and internal stakeholders to ensure they secure the right products at the right price — every time.
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Maintain full responsibility for the warehouse space
  • Direct management of a small team of stores people and drivers
  • Develop and manage inwards/outwards goods procedures
  • Coordinate logistics between suppliers, warehouse, and site stores
  • Manage procurement and delivery schedules between suppliers and site stores
  • Source and purchase materials, products, equipment and services for project and divisional needs
  • Review purchase requisitions and raise purchase orders using Greentree
  • Coordinate logistics including freight, imports/exports and customs
  • Expedite deliveries and maintain accurate inventory control
  • Negotiate pricing, bulk discounts and supply agreements
  • Conduct quotation analysis to ensure best value
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Evaluate supplier performance and identify alternative vendors
  • Support tendering and design teams with pricing and sourcing
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, HSE requirements and continuous improvement processes

What You'll Bring

Essential:
 
  • Previous procurement experience in a construction or engineering environment
  • People management experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of procurement experience in construction or engineering environment is required
  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices and procedures
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (especially Excel)
  • Experience using Greentree or similar ERP systems
  • High attention to detail and commitment to "getting it right the first time"
  • Ability to travel interstate as required

  • Local supplier knowledge
  • Electrical product knowledge
