Major Infrastructure Project (North East Link)
About the Role:

Red Appointments are seeking an experienced HSEQ Officer to join our client’s project team delivering the North East Link—one of Victoria’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects.
This is a site‑based role supporting the safe and compliant delivery of high‑risk construction works. You will work alongside Project and Site Management to embed practical safety systems, manage compliance requirements, and support frontline teams with proactive risk identification and control.
With the scale and pace of works, this role is critical in driving strong safety performance while ensuring project leadership can remain focused on delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide on-site HSEQ support to project and construction teams
  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve HSEQ systems in line with AS4801 / ISO 45001
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Lead incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Manage injury management and workers compensation processes
  • Develop and coordinate return-to-work programs
  • Review subcontractor HSEQ documentation and on-site compliance
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and HSEQ training
  • Prepare reports, metrics, and trend analysis for project leadership

About You:

Essential:
  • Qualification in Health, Safety and Environment
  • Experience in an HSEQ Officer role within construction or infrastructure
  • Sound knowledge of work health and safety legislation
  • Experience managing workers compensation and injury management
  • Strong site presence with a practical, solutions‑focused approach
  • Ability to engage with supervisors, subcontractors and management

Desirable:
  • Tertiary HSEQ qualification
  • Experience on large or complex infrastructure projects
